I am living in Austin in UT west campus area with a roommate. I have had a rough several months since the last time I actually put up a real post here. Things are still really rough. Financially,romantically, situationally, etc. If it weren't for my friends, I'd probably not be here now.

So I am still stuck in the house with my soon-to-be ex who refuses to accept the fact that i am not in love with her. She keeps trying everything she can think of to keep me from leaving. I don't want to sneak off into the night when she isn't looking like some rat, but trying to face it like a man and deal with all the fallout is just about beyond my current level of strength to bear. I have an extremely hard time doing things to people that will knowingly cause them pain, and I have no choice in the matter here. And the worst of it is that I will be shattering her whole world. At the same time, if I were to stay(not that I am considering it even for a moment), I would be completely miserable, and inadvertently make everyone in the house just as miserable as me.
It would help tremendously if the woman I am in love with could be there for me right now, but she is so incredibly busy with full-time school, work, her band, and lots of prior commitments that she made before we reconnected, that we barely even get to see each other at all. On top of that, I am not at all sure how deep her feelings actually go for me. All this is really tearing me up in several different ways, and I am really at a loss as to how I should handle this. I know what I need to do, but I can't quite figure how to go about it. The longer I take, the worse it will be.
As always, any suggestions would be very appreciated.

It looks as though I may be incarcerated soon. As a last-ditch effort to force me to stay with her, my soon-to-be ex threatened to have me put in jail for accidentally breaking her finger. This right after she had spent nearly an hour begging and pleading with me not to leave her. She is trying anything she can to force me to remain in a relationship in which I am miserable! I have left her several times, but she always managed to manipulate the situation to have me back with her. I hate to hurt anyone. It is not in my nature to willfully cause pain to anyone, but it would be wrong of me to remain with her, and subject my child to this volatile atmosphere any longer. She claims that I don't really know her, and if I actually got to know her, we would be alright together. I am sorry, but after 16 years, I think enough is enough. She tries to think of ways to keep me from leaving for work, frightened that I won't return after. She threatened to kill herself today in front of my daughter, niece, and nephew. She really needs help. I can't give her what she needs. She has blackmailed me with this jail thing, she has laid out some really well-done guilt-trips, she has manipulated my emotions, and taken advantage of my conscience for years. She may truly love me, but I cannot survive in a relationship with her. She stifles me. Trys to control me. Will not allow me to be me. I thought I was in love with her once long ago. I still have some love and care for her, but I haven't been in love with her for quite some time. She just doesn't seem to understand that love cannot be forced. It cannot be torn from someone like information torn from a captive during an interrogation. She can't force me to be who I am not, or to feel what I do not.
I am worried that all this will destroy not only her but my daughter as well. That and finances have been my sole reason for staying up until now. I have got to get away in the next several days at least. She will do all she can to make my life a living hell, but just not being under her thumb for any length of time is well worth it!

Man, I have GOT to get financially stabilized, QUICKLY!! I am staying with some friends who have been way more than kind, and I feel like the biggest mooch!! I hate being such a bum!!

Moving again!! Looking at a couple of new jobs, and looking forward to a recording project coming up soon. My personal relationships seem to be remaining in the toilet at present. My depression is a constant drag on everything I attempt to do. Something's got to GIVE here!!!

Well, I didn't get the Alcoa job, but I did get my old job back, and the option of beginning electrician training very soon as well. I just hope I can balance all this out!
